Reflection Day 2

Reflection Day 2

I enjoy looking for new things to do with my students. I have been interested in Project Based Learning for some time now. I found a resource that gives me ideas on how to implement this into my classroom. I feel a project based learning project will automatically infuse technology in all aspects from research to presenting.

I loved the energy of Todd Nesloney. I went to youtube and watched a few more of his videos. I learned that the students will be more excited about learning if you do it in a flipped style classroom. I also learned that initially it will be a lot of time to set up but once it is done, you have it forever and are not having to recreate it every year.

My second graders struggle with word problems in Math. They struggle with all aspects of it from determining what operation to the actual solving of the problem. They will use Paint to create and illustrate.

I did one PBL a six weeks and my students loved them... for the weather lesson I had a friend dress up and act like he was a weather man and say that his news station was in need of a storm prediction, I felt kind of bad because students took it a little too literal and thought a hurricane was headed our way...
